The two partners at DeLizzio Architects have a combined experience of over 50 years, with over 600 projects in the Washington Metropolitan Area. They have worked together for over 25 years. We bring this exceptional experience to a wide variety of Clients: Residential, Religious, Educational, Social and Community, and Recreational.
We offer full professional services: Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical Engineering. We will assist you with Contractor Interviews, Contractor Contract Negotiations, Contractor Relations, Budgeting, Phasing, Construction Management, Construction Administration, and interface with governing agencies.

We are licensed to practice in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. with reciprocity options in all 54 U.S. jurisdictions.
Our process is client-service oriented: We will guide you through a design that stems from your own inspiration. In the end, the design evolves from your vision for your project. The building that we design for you will be within your budget.

The Architects
Biography
Mr. DeLizzio has practiced architecture since graduating with a Master of Architecture from The Catholic University of America in 1976. He is currently the President and Principal-in-Charge of projects at DeLizzio Seligson Architects since opening the firm in 1990. The Maryland and National Chapters of the American Institute of Architects have exhibited his work, where he has received Design Awards for Architectural Excellence. He has been named in “Who’s Who Among American Professionals”, Platinum Edition.
Mr. DeLizzio has served on Executive Planning Committees for Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Potomac, Maryland, the Greenwell Foundation, St. Mary’s County, Maryland, President of Whitley Park Condominium Association and as Executive Architect for George Mason University’s Auxiliary Enterprise. He currently serves on the Archdiocese of Washington Sacred Arts and Architectural Design Committee.
He has lectured and acted as design critic and intern sponsor for Montgomery County Public Schools and The Catholic University of America School of Architecture & Planning. He has also authored a Project Management Manual for Architects and has served as an expert litigation witness for the Montgomery County Department of Public Works & Transportation and several Law Firms in the Washington DC area. He has also served as Senior Architectural Consultant for OLBN Architects & Engineers managing projects for NIH, GSA, NOAH, WMATA and other government and institutional clients.
He is licensed to practice architecture in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.
His diverse experience includes the planning, design and construction administration of over 500 Institutional, Religious, Educational, Community, Commercial and Residential Projects.
Biography
Ms. Seligson is an Architect, Artist and Educator. She holds a Masters of Architecture, since1983, as well as a Degree in Fine Arts from Syracuse University. She has worked in association with Mr. DeLizzio for over 25 years. Her professional experience incorporates teaching positions in Architecture and Art, including University of Houston, Montgomery College, Visiting Critic at University of Maryland School of Architecture, and the New Jersey Association for Children with Learning Disabilities.
Her art and architecture have been exhibited in private shows and juried exhibitions for over 20 years; most recently in Virginia, Washington, DC, Texas and New York. Among her awards are AIA, Art by Architects, Potomac Chapter, and First Place Citation by the Department Chair of Fine Arts, Georgetown University (juried exhibition). With DeLizzio Architects, she is the recipient of numerous awards. Her written work and articles about her Architecture includes publications in numerous local papers. Her Master’s Degree thesis in Architectural History was instated as required reading for the Undergraduate Architecture program at University of Houston.
Ms. Seligson’s experience with Community, Educational and Institutional projects, and her teaching and lecturing, have provided her with the ability to deal in extremely efficient and clearly communicable ways with all participants in the programming, design, and construction process. As well as Historic Preservation Boards, she has worked with numerous local & federal agencies including MDW, CHESDIV, US Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore (including Fort Belvoir, Fort McNair, Fort Meyer and Fort Meade), US Marine Corps, CIA, US Secret Service.
Her diverse experience includes the planning, design and construction administration of over 300 Institutional, Religious, Educational, Community, and Commercial Projects.
